Some stories bloom from comfort.
Linda Tang’s story bloomed from challenge.
From breaking barriers in male-dominated retail to crafting heartfelt flower arrangements through her brand Lunique, Linda’s journey is proof that grace and grit can coexist — and that even when life wilts, there’s beauty waiting to grow again.
From Retail Rookie to Disney Professional
Linda’s early career reads like a history of modern retail. She began at Best Denki, where she became the first female management trainee in the company’s history. Back in 1989, this was unheard of — especially in a Japanese company that believed only men could climb the ranks.
She proved them wrong.
Within months, she led operations for the Plaza Singapura flagship, earning respect after exposing internal theft and saving the company from major loss. That single act of courage changed how the company viewed women in leadership — and it changed how Linda viewed herself.
Later, Disney came knocking. She helped launch Singapore’s first Disney Store in Takashimaya and even set up outlets in Hong Kong. There, she learned the value of experience, storytelling, and precision — lessons that would later shape her own brand.
Leaving Corporate, Finding Clarity
After nearly a decade in retail and corporate life, Linda realised she wanted more than endless shifts and missed weekends. She stepped away from the 9-to-9 grind and began a new chapter — as an insurance agent, where she built her business on sincerity and late-night house calls.
Her motto was simple: “If my client can’t meet me during the day, I’ll go at midnight.”
That commitment to care helped her rebuild confidence, income, and independence.
But life had other tests ahead.
A failed marriage, a financial setback, and the responsibility of raising three children alone forced Linda to dig deep once again.
This time, she didn’t just survive — she created.

The Birth of Lunique
Out of hardship came Lunique Floral & Gifts — a home-based floral business built on meaning, not mass production.
It started as a hobby. Linda had always loved flowers, having created her own wedding bouquet years earlier. But when finances grew tight, she turned her craft into her calling.
Without formal training, she taught herself by experimenting — and by listening.
Unlike typical florists, Linda doesn’t just ask what colour you want. She asks about the person behind the flowers — their story, personality, and emotions. A bouquet for a quiet mother looks nothing like one for a bold entrepreneur.
“I’m not just selling flowers. I’m expressing who they are through what I create.”
Her approach made Lunique stand out. Each arrangement is handcrafted, heartfelt, and fresh — no seven-day fridge stock, no shortcuts.
Building Beauty Through Resilience
Running a business as a single mother wasn’t easy. There were months of uncertainty and times when savings ran dry. But Linda’s work ethic, shaped by her corporate years, kept her steady.
She handled every part of the business — sourcing, designing, marketing, and delivery — while giving her clients something no algorithm could replicate: empathy.
And in a poetic twist, flowers — delicate and short-lived — became her strongest symbol of resilience.
“Every flower has its season. When one fades, another blooms. That’s how I see life too.”
